Stanley R. Watson is an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma, with more than four decades of legal experience serving individuals, families, businesses, and governmental entities. A native of Quanah, Texas, Mr. Watson was born and raised on a farm and ranch in northwestern Hardeman County. His agricultural roots remain an important part of his life and continue to shape the practical, common-sense approach he brings to the practice of law.
Mr. Watson graduated from Quanah High School before attending Texas Tech University, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He subsequently attended Southern Methodist University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 1979 and his Master of Laws degree in 1983.
Since January 1, 1981, Mr. Watson has served as the elected County Attorney of Hardeman County, Texas. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive experience in a broad range of legal matters and regularly practices in state courts throughout Texas and Oklahoma, as well as in the federal courts of both states.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Watson is a credentialed mediator in the State of Texas and a licensed escrow officer for Digital Abstract and Title. His diverse professional background enables him to provide clients with practical guidance that considers not only the legal issues involved, but also the real-world consequences of the decisions they face.
Mr. Watson believes that effective legal representation begins with a candid evaluation of a client’s objectives, the strengths and weaknesses of a case, and the likely outcomes of litigation.
